Some of the state-owned and private communication towers were built and installed to facilitate telecommunication and information flow among people were set fire and destroyed by political extremists who oppose social development and stability of the people in the country. It has been found that acts of terrorism include arson and explosive attacks are carried out on communication towers.
Since they are conducting such destructive acts, on 10 August at 10:30 PM, an explosion was heard from the vicinity of Moatkhamu Village in Kyaikto Township of Mon State, and security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection to carry out combating counter terrorism measures. During the inspection, it was discovered that armed insurgents (under scrutiny) and so-called PDF terrorists had detonated a homemade mine and destroyed two system boxes of a Mytel telecommunication tower installed near Moatkhamu Village. As a result, two system boxes were damaged. There was no disruption to communication services in the area, it is reported.
Security personnel are continue taking necessary measures to take punitive legal actions against the perpetrators who blew up and destroyed a MYTEL telecommunication tower as soonest in accordance with the law, it is reported.
