In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 December at 07:50 PM, a report stated that individuals injured by bomb shrapnel had arrived at the Public Hospital in Bahmo Township, Kachin State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that Daw Khin San Myint (52 years old), who lives in Moeseinkhun Village, had sustained injuries to her right hand from bomb shrapnel. Additionally, Ma Theingi Lin (22 years old), who lives in Minekar Village, had sustained injuries to her hand and left sole, while Ma Poe Ei San (25 years old), who also lives in Minekar Village, had sustained injuries to her left and right legs from bomb shrapnel. The incident was verified that on the same day around 05:30 PM, heavy weapon shells, fired by KIA armed insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists, exploded within their respective house yards, resulting in the injuries mentioned above, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who launched the heavy weapon shell attack, causing innocent civilians to sustain injuries, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
