In states and regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 2 January at 01:20 PM, so-called PDF terrorists wantonly dropped a bomb by a drone from Pakokkukhun Village towards Pakokku Town, Magway Region. The bomb exploded on the road in front of the “May Phu Nhgon” clothing store in No. (8) Ward of Pakokku Town. As a result of the explosion, U Thein Win (40 years old) and U Kyi Lin (59 years old), who both live in No. (15) Ward in Pakokku Town, along with U Myint Lwin (37 years old), who lives in Ahnoutchaukkan Village, sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel. All injured individuals were passing by at the moment of the explosion. They are currently under medical treatment at Pakokku Township Public Hospital, it is reported.
