In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 29 December at 10:30 AM, a report stated that the injured individuals had arrived at Township Public Hospital in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that Ko Saw Lu Min (20 years old) and his younger cousin sister, Ma Nan Hla Lin Htay (13 years old), who both live in Laungkaing Village of Kawkareik Township, sustained injuries from heavy weapon shell shrapnel to their left arms. The incident was verified to have occurred on 28 December at 09:30 PM when they were present in Ko Saw Lu Min’s house. A heavy weapon shell fired by terrorists which exploded near the house, resulting in the aforementioned injuries, it is reported.
Similarly, on 29 December at 02:15 PM, a report stated that a male with injuries from bomb shrapnel had arrived at the Public Hospital in Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the investigation, it was found that U Khin Maung Than (60 years old), who lives in Aungmyae Ward of Taungthalalpin Village in Palnwekone Town, Kyauktaga Township, had severed his right ring finger and sustained abrasions on his left middle finger. The incident was verified to have occurred on the same day around 01:15 PM so-called PDF terrorists wantonly dropped a bomb via drone from Thalkaw Village towards his village. The bomb fell and exploded in front of his house, causing the aforementioned injuries to U Khin Maung Than, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weapons and dropping a bomb using a drone, causing innocent civilians to sustain injuries within Villages in the aforementioned cases, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
