TNLA members launched a reckless and surprise attack on No. (1) Ward of Kyaukme Town in Northern Shan State, resulting in the deaths of two departmental staff and injuries to five other staff, it is reported.
The incident happened that on 6 August at 11:30 AM, TNLA members arrived at the ward administrator office of the No. (1) Ward in Kyaukme Town by a white Pajero vehicle from the northern side of Pinlon Road and threw a hand-grenade into the office. They then fired small arms at the office and drove off. During the attack, two departmental staff were killed and five other staff were injured, it is reported.
All injured individuals were transported to the Kyaukme public hospital to receive necessary medical treatment. It is reported that security personnel are undertaking necessary tasks for security and law enforcement around the vicinity of the town, it is reported.
