Two Civil Servants Injured in Improvised Mortar Attack on Ward by So-called PDF Terrorists

     Armed insurgents, who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists, have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons, improvised rockets, improvised mortars and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 July, 2024 at 12:00 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group fired improvised mortars into Myoma Ward in Depeyin Township of Sagaing Region. The improvised mortar shells exploded within the compound of the Basic Education High School in the ward. As a result of these explosions, six galvanized roofs, 50 ceilings and eight window panes of the “Ma Naw Thu Kha” teaching building in the school compound, were damaged. Additionally, U Kyaw Maung Maung Thwin (47 years old) and Daw Soe Soe Lwin (53 years old), who both senior assistance teachers at the school, sustained injuries from the shrapnel. They are currently receiving medical treatment at the temporary hospital within the school compound, it is reported.
     Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians including children are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
