Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapons Attack by KNU Member Supporting Terrorism and So-called PDF Terrorists

     In respective States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 22 May, 2024 at 8:40 PM, a group of KNU member who support terrorism and the so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons at Thayote Tan+Nyaung Wyne Ward, Shwegyin Town, Shwegyin Township, Bago Region. A heavy weapon shell exploded within the ward, Ma Moe Hay Mhan (15 years old) and Ma Htay Htay Htway (17 years old), sustained injuries from the shrapnel and were transported to Shwegyin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
    Security personnel are conducting further investigations to take punitive action against the perpetrators of terrorists who conducted the heavy weapons attack that caused injuries among innocent civilians, and also taking security measures to restore stability and peace in the area, it is reported.
