Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Improvised Mortar Attack on Ward by So-called PDF Terrorists

Armed insurgents, who support terrorism alongside so-called PDF terrorists, have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 17 July, 2024 at 7:15 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group fired improvised mortars into No. (2) Ward in Kyauk Myaung Town, Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region. One of the improvised mortar shells exploded within the compound of the Myoma Shwe Hnone Toe monastery in the ward. As a result, U Bo Myint (65 years old) and U Thiha Win (34 years old) both residents of the ward who were in the monastery at the time, sustained shrapnel injuries. They are currently receiving medical treatment at the military clinic of the No. (12) Infantry Regiment in Kyauk Myaung Town, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians including children are killed and injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
