Two innocent civilians lost their lives, and a child was injured in an attack involving heavy weapons, small arms, and drone-dropped bombs carried out by so-called PDF terrorists within residential Wards/Villages

In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 22 December at 01:10 PM, so-called PDF terrorists wantonly fired heavy weapons and small arms from western bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, towards Thabeikkyin Town, Mandalay Region. The heavy weapon shells landed and exploded within Kabae Ward and the Myoma market located in Seikkan Ward along the river and in close proximity to the “Aungmyinthar” monastery facade. As a result, an AD Van vehicle (estimated value approximately 35 lakhs MMK) parked in front of a house in Kabae Ward was damaged, it is reported.
Similarly, at 03:30 PM, so-called PDF terrorists wantonly dropped two bombs via drone from Phonekone Village towards Tagaung Town in Tabeikkyin Township. The bombs fell and exploded on the road near the Electricity Office in No. (3) Ward of Tagaung Town upon impact. As a result, Daw Zin Mar Khine (44 years old), who was selling goods while riding a motorcycle within Tagaung Town and lived in No. (1) Ward, sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel to her face, chest and leg. Tragically, despite receiving medical attention at the Circuit Hospital in Tagaung Town, Daw Zin Mar Khine was dead to her injuries during the incident, it is reported.
Likewise, at 05:45 PM, so-called PDF terrorists wantonly dropped bombs using a drone within Thayetkan Village of Myaing Township, Magway Region. Seven bombs were dropped and exploded within the village. As a result, Daw Nyaunt Aye (56 years old), who lived in this village, succumbed to a cardiac arrest triggered by explosions. Additionally, Mg Wine Htet Kyaw (seven years old), a Grade-1 student, who also lives in this village, sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel to his right calf. Furthermore, the explosions damaged 55 zinc roofs across two houses within the village, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weapons, small arms and dropping bombs using drones, causing innocent civilians to sustain injuries and to dead as well as to damage public property within Wards/Villages in the aforementioned cases, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
