On 21 December at 09:00 AM, so-called PDF terrorists set fire to the office of the Veterans Association in Launglon Town, Tanintharyi Region. While retreating from the scene, they wantonly fired improvised mortars towards the ward upon reaching the outskirts of the town. Consequently, two innocent civilians were killed, and eight others, including four children, sustained injuries, it is reported.
The incident occurred that so-called PDF terrorists burnt down the office of the Veterans Association in Launglon Township of Tanintharyi Region. Upon their retreat, they fired improvised mortars toward Launglon Town from a position approximately 1,100 meters southeast of the town. The mortar shells exploded at a labor barrack of a construction company near Aungchanthar Pagoda in (Khakhway) Ward. As a result of the explosions, an innocent man and woman lost their lives, while eight individuals, including four children, sustained injuries from mortar shell shrapnel. All affected individuals were residents of the labor barrack.
Security personnel and charitable organizations promptly transported all injured individuals from Launglon Town to Dawei Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Hence, the local community is appalled by the inhumane acts committed by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in casualties among innocent civilians. Security personnel are actively implementing essential measures to restore and maintain peace and tranquility in the area, it is reported.
