In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 23 January at 6:45 PM, a so-called PDF terrorist group carried out a bombing using a drone on N0. (2) Ward in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. One of the bombs exploded on the road in front of the house belonging to Daw Kyi Kyi Myint (70 years old), who lives in this Ward. As a result, while sitting on a chair in her house yard, Daw Kyi Kyi Myint sustained injuries from bomb shrapnel and was transported to Taungtha Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Likewise, at 8:10 PM, a collaborative group comprising KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists fired improvised rockets towards the wards of Nyaunglaypin Township, Bago Region. One of the improvised rocket shells exploded on a house located in Myoma Ward of Nyaunglaypin Town resulting in damage to the galvanized roof, walls, and closets. Additionally, Ma Eaint Khun Cho (15 years old), a Grade-10 student from No. (1) Basic Education High School in Nyaunglaypin Town, sustained injuries from improvised rocket shell shrapnel and was transported to Nyaunglaypin Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving the dropping of bombs using a drone and attacks with improvised rockets within the wards, resulting in the injuries and damag mentioned earlier. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
