In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts by detonating roads and bridges, as well as dropping bombs and firing heavy arms on the non-military targets, such as Ward and Villages where innocent civilians reside.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 May at 11:20 AM, so-called PDF terrorists opened fire with a heavy weapon towards the compound of Basic Education High School in Myoma Ward of Chaung-U Township in Sagaing Region. The attack was launched from Myothit Ward. The 40mm bombs exploded in the football field within the school compound, resulting in injuries to Mg Than Htet Zaw, 18 years old, (Father) U Bo Than, and Ma Win Mar Htay, 38 years old, (Father) U Win Shwe, who both live in Myoma Ward and who were working as masons on the construction of a three-story school building within the school compound. They were transported to the Chaung-U Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating to take punitive action against those terrorists who recklessly opened fire with a heavy weapon towards a school, causing injuries to innocent civilians, as soonest in line with law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
