In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 30 January at 7:30 AM, a heavy weapon shell, fired by so-called PDF terrorists, exploded on the Shwebo-Seikkhon road near a Hybird rice breeding field in Chepa Village, Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. As a result, Daw Shan Ma (65 years old) and Ma Phyu Hnin Phwe (27 years old), residents of Pagokone Village, who were riding a motorcycle on the road at that time, were injured by bomb shrapnel. They are currently under medical treatment in Shwebo District Public Hospital, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incidents involving a heavy weapon attack on the village, which resulted in the earlier mentioned injuries. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
