Two innocent civilians were injured due to the reckless small arms attack carried out by so-called PDF terrorists who entered a residential Ward in Yebyu Township

     In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 August at 03:20 PM, a group of approximately 10 so-called PDF terrorists arrived in a vehicle at Yattawmu pagoda Street in (Khakhway) Ward of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, and recklessly attacked with small arms. As a result, Daw Thwal Thwal Win, 38 years old, who was selling goods at her home-based shop on Yattawmu pagoda street, and Ma Nandar Win Chal, 18 years old, who lives in the same Ward and was purchasing at the shop, sustained gunshot injuries. They were transported to the Dawei Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
     Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against so-called PDF terrorists who recklessly attacked with small arms by entering a residential Ward, causing injuries to innocent civilians, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
