Two innocent civilians were injured in an attack involving heavy weapons within the village, carried out by a group of KIA armed insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists

In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars, and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 30 March at 1:10 PM, a group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists, fired heavy weapons in Hninei Village, Momauk Township, Kachin State. One of the shells from heavy weapons exploded in the house yard of U Aung Than (36 years old), who lives in the village. As a result, U Aung Than and his daughter, Ma Kyar Ngying (seven years old), sustained injuries from the shrapnel of the heavy weapon shell. They were transported to the Bhamo Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are conducting an investigation into the incident involving an attack using heavy weaponry and resulted in the injuries described previously. The aim of this investigation is to take punitive action against the terrorists involved. This action is in accordance with the law and is geared towards upholding stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
