In States and Regions, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists have been carrying out terrorist acts against non-military targets. These acts include detonating public roads and bridges, dropping bombs, firing heavy arms, using improvised mortars and setting fire to residential houses in areas where innocent civilians reside, such as wards and villages.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 November at 08:15 AM, a report stated that three males with bomb shrapnel injuries had arrived at the District Hospital in Kawkareik Town, Kayin State. Security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital and conducted an inspection. During the inspection, it was found that U Tun Yin (77 years old), was found dead from a bomb shrapnel injury, entering through his left cheek and penetrating his head. Mg Min Khant Kyaw (17 years old), was also found dead from a bomb shrapnel injury penetrating his chest. Meanwhile, Ko Khant Moe Oo (23 years old), sustained a bomb shrapnel injury on his right thigh. All individuals resided in Wingyi No. (2) Ward in Kawkareik Town. The incident, verified to have occurred on 20 November at 10:30 PM, involved the victims being persent in their house when a collaborative group, including KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists, launched an attacked with heavy weaponry. A heavy weapon shell landed and exploded on U Tun Yin’s house, resulting in their deaths and injuries as mentioned earlier. Additionally, the roofs of the house were damaged due to the explosion, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who attacked with heavy weaponry onto the Ward where civilians reside, causing innocent civilians to death and sustain injuries, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
