Two innocent travellers were injured due to a reckless small arms fire attack on a passenger vehicle carried out by KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists in Ye Township, Mon State, it is reported.
The incident occurred that, in the evening of 23 August , a YGN-45 3N-xxxx VOLVO passenger vehicle operated by “Shwepalethi” Express, driven by U Thein Min Tin and accompanied by vehicle helpers U Ye Yint Myint Mo and U Wai Lin Paing, was travelling from Yangon City to Ye Township along the Yangon-Mawlamyine-Ye Road. While the vehicle passing through near Lainmawchan Village in Ye Township on 24 August at 05:15 AM, KNU members who support terrorism and so-called PDF terrorists recklessly opened fire with small arms on the left side of the road. As a result, the left side of the windshield of the vehicle was shattered by a gunshot, causing injuries to passengers; Ma War War Win, 26 years old, and U Tin Htway, 34 years old, who were hit by broken glass, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against the terrorists who recklessly attacked vehicles with small arms, aiming to cause injuries and casualties of innocent civilians who were travelling peacefully, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
