Two Men Die, One Arrested with Explosive Device in Failed Detonation Attempt in Dagon Myothit (Southern), Yangon Region

     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, On 27 October, 2024 at 6:30 AM, a report stated that two men were found with shrapnel injuries, lying near No. 30 Basic Education Primary School on Padamyar Street in Ward No. 62, Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township of Yangon Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the scene for further investigation, they identified the injured men as Phoe La Pyae (29 years old), son of U Thet Toe, a resident of Ward No. 78 in Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) Township and Paing Min Htet (20 years old), son of U Tin Win, a resident of Ward No. 94. The injured men were transported to No. 1 Military Hospital (1000-bed) for medical treatment, where they were also inspected.
     According to the investigation, at 4:30 AM on the same day, Phoe La Pyae, Paing Min Htet and Aung Naing Tun (aka) Ka Yin were travelling in a white Toyota Corolla taxi (License Plate No. YGN/AA-XXXX), driven by Ngwe Soe (40 years old), to the Ward No. 94 Administrator's Office to detonate an explosive device. However, when they arrived near the office, the explosive device detonated inside the taxi. As a result, Phoe La Pyae and Paing Min Htet sustained shrapnel injuries, while Aung Naing Tun (aka) Ka Yin fled the scene in the taxi. The driver, Ngwe Soe, continued driving with the injured men and dropped them off near No. 30 Basic Education Primary School.
     Based on their examination of the injured men, security personnel launched a search operation to apprehend Ngwe Soe. They found him with the white taxi near the corner of Pyidaungsu Road and Maygawaddy Street in Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township. Upon inspecting the vehicle, they discovered an explosive device made of an iron pipe, which was successfully defused and cleared.
     Of the three suspects involved in the incident, Phoe La Pyae and Paing Min Htet succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment. Legal action is being taken against Ngwe Soe in accordance with the law, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fugitive Aung Naing Tun (aka) Ka Yin, it is reported.
