On 17 April, 02:15 PM, two so-called PDF terrorists who launched grenade attack on water-splashing pavilion in Panga Village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State, were arrested by local residents, it is reported.
As per the instruction of Cha Nay Lar, who is in the rank of deputy company-commander under Battalion (16), Brigade (6) of KNLA, Arkar Min and Aung Myo Htet left Lainmawchan village in Ye Township by motorbike to mount a grenade attack on the water-splashing pavilion in Panga Village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State around 9 AM on 17 April and watched the pavilion. When Arkar Min took the grenade out from the pocket of his pants at 2:15 PM, the safety pin was left itself in his pocket and he immediately threw it into the drainage with fear. So, the grenade explosion took place in the drainage. No casualties and damages were reported but local residents arrested those two terrorists and handed them over to security personnel.
According to the arrested terrorists’ confessions, security personnel spotted three improvised mines which were hidden in the ravine at about 1,300 meters to the south-east of the Thatkaw village in Thanbyuzayat Township and they destroyed the mines at the spot. Since the terrorists ran to escape from the security personnel on their return trip, the security personnel made warning shots to halt them. However, the terrorists did not stop their running. Thus, the security personnel started shootings to arrest them and the terrorists died in the arrest.
It is reported that file was opened for their deaths in the afore-said incident under the law, and their body were cremated well in Waekali Village cemetery.
