Two Terrorists Arrested with Gunfire, One MG-1 Hand Grenade Seized in No. 8 Ward, Shwebo Township

    In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
    Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 15 November 2024 at 8:30 PM, security personnel conducted block checks on Lat Wel Thon Da Ra Road in No. 8 Ward, Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. During the operation, two males were observed riding a motorcycle along the road. When security personnel signaled them to stop for a check, the driver attempted to flee. Security personnel fired a warning shot and apprehended them. As a result, an approximately 60 years old man (under investigation) and an approximately 30 years old man (under investigation) were arrested with gunshot injuries. Items seized included an MG-1 hand grenade, a slingshot and 15 mud-ball bearings. The two arrested individuals were transported to Shwebo District Public Hospital for medical treatment to enable legal action in accordance with the law. However, they succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment, it is reported.
    A case is being filed against the two terrorists who died in the above incident in accordance with the law. Security personnel are continuing operations in line with necessary security procedures to ensure the stability of the area, it is reported.
